I use 8.5 foot medium power for dipseys on Erie. I wouldn't want any stiffer for dipseys. I have never ran down riggers.

I had that same combo as you have. I ran a 21 pitch Rev 4. That will give you about 5800-6000 RPM and 57-58 MPH. My motor was mounted in the highest position.
