I just use a pin lock. And usually take the pin for the break away tongue with me. I hope it keeps honest people honest, and maybe makes a thief look for a slightly easier target.

I’ve had boats with snap out carpet for about 25 years now. It is incredibly rare for me to have the carpet out. If I wasn’t getting carpet, I’d look at Sea Dek / Gatorstep.
