There was a time I was not targeting walleye but rather bass and northerns in heavy slop. I was in 5 ft of water and did catch some nice walleyes on a white spinnerbait. Pleasant surprise.

A brushless motor is a much more efficient motor. So,as mentioned above, you get longer run times as well as more power. Also, a motor with brushes can cause sonar interference in varying degrees...
