Yes if you clean the hull under the anode to bare then bolt through that would be fine.

I have a 28' Marinette that is aluminum and I have to replace my anodes every 5 years here on Lake Erie keep...

You would put the anode in the water and make sure you have a good connection from the anode to the hull. This would let the anode be sacrificed first and when you pulled the boat out you could tell...

I know It would work on my main engine but there is no way to connect it to a kicker motor. I just don't like running the big motor at low speed for hours. It uses quite alot more fuel than my 15hp...

just changed the plugs yesterday the only thing I was thinking was that I might not have run the motor long enough with the old plugs to burn out the fogging oil and that might have fouled the plugs...
