Sounds like carb issues, either dtear apart and clean or run a full can of sea foam through it in a new can of gas. Stay away from ethanol gas if possible in future

Unless you havent changed the oil in 2000 hrs its not compression,its a 06 so its fuel injected i assume. Look at a injector issue

If you of you guys watch you tube at all, i bet 90% of small engine and even outboard problems/issues are fuel related. Big time on carb engines with rubber fuel lines

Not sure what state you are in but your outboard wouldnt need the higher octane, we use it here in WI because its the one with no ethanol. I would use the lower octane and treat accordingly and hope...

Great little motor, got one a year and a half ago, awesome kicker. Just mount the thing and go out and break it in by varying rpms, dont make a mountain out of a mole hill folks, nobody does anything...
