Did you ever run that merc? Curious as today a salesman told me sometimes the older the boat the less it likes the newer engine and suggested to stay as light as possible...IE Suzuki or merc 20hp.

Personally I'd look into a St. Croix before I dumped big cash on a loomis. If you are on a budget I'd look at elite tech Fenwicks. Also hard to find but a local store has some TFO by gary loomis...
