Analog or digital tach? Analog tachs have seem to become less and less accurate over the years. I would make sure your tach is reading correctly before changing props.

1400 lbs does seem a little light though.

Your tach is not reading right. There is no way that motor will hit 7000 RPM. The rev limiter would kick in sooner. Idle is 750-800 RPM

There is a dial on the back of the tach, they are set on 2...

I'd look at the Yamaha VF115 SHO or Mercury F115 Pro XS both good performers in the 115 class, Suzuki's are great if you have a dealer near by that can do...
