That's the same system I am installing right now on my rig. The AGM's have a higher CCA and MCA than the 2 crummy Interstates I had in there before, which were also wired in parallel.

The bilge area is a high humidity wet place. Things like to corrode in that environment and have a higher likelyhood of shorting out. Could be the pump itself or the connections going to it.
