I believe I put fender washers under the console and mounted it side to side. Been that way for 4 years, no issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to put a 12” graph if you can get it to fit.

I’ll second the Okuma deadeye. I have a couple 7’10” rods and they are my favorite longline rods. The best feature is the triangular foregrip. Keeps the rod from rotating while playing a fish.
