RE: Boat bow ring

Nope, stitching didn't fail. Winch strap tore straight across at the clip. All stitching was still in place. That probably started things happening. But it still doesn't explain why the bow ring...

RE: Boat bow ring

I want to thank everyone for sharing on this message thread (even Honsie). As to heavy-duty pressure on that bow ring, I agree. I don't know what the total weight of the boat and motors were. The...

RE: Boat bow ring

Thanks for the kind words. No, no one was hurt. As to writing a column about it, at this point, I don't know what the heck I would write. I think it's still a little too baffling and painful.

RE: Boat bow ring

By the way, I've got to say that for all it went through, the boat looked to me like it came through amazingly well. The boat dealer said his immediate assessment was that the factory would likely...

RE: Boat bow ring

The bow came up because the truck was moving at 50 miles per hour. It wouldn't take too much of a lift for the transom straps to drop out of the lower holes because they're held there by tension on...

RE: Boat bow ring

transom straps were in place until bow ring failed and front of boat started to lift. that must have created slack in the transom straps and they came loose -- or so I assume. found one of them. ...

Boat bow ring

Just curious. Has anyone ever heard of a bow ring failing on a trailered boat? Had it happen amid some disastrous results at 50 miles per hour on a highway -- boat skidding down road minus the...

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-01 AT 00:05AM (CST)[p]I've got a 2000 1775 Pro V with a Yamaha F80. I've run three props on it since I bought it in the spring of 2000. The hole shot with all of them is very...

Fort Peck

Fort Peck is pretty notorious for great one-day tournament catches, but putting two days back-to-back appears to be just about impossible.

In 2000, Bob Magnuson and Carlo Swenson set the one-day...

The reservoir level has not come up any -- but it hasn't dropped any either. It has been holding at about 2222 and change for the past two months.

Fishing has been really hot and cold on the lake...

RE: Yellowtail MT

LAST EDITED ON Jul-20-01 AT 06:33PM (CST)[p]If you fish Yellowtail, be prepared for a deep bite -- at least much deeper than most folks in this country are used to. The primary baitfish for walleyes...

fire the fortune teller

Me? Finish in the money? You'd better fire that fortune teller. Or at least buy her a new crystal ball.

Frankly, I'll be happy if I just remember to put the plug in the boat. That, in itself,...

RE: Fort Peck fishing report

John --

Any guess on a winning weight for the ##### Creek tournament in two weeks? (I just want to make an educated guess as to how many pounds out of the money I'll be.)

RE: lund laker 16ft

I had a 1996 Lund Lake 16 and ran both a 25-horse Mariner and 30-horse Yamaha on it. It is a very nice boat. With a 40, it should scoot. I sold it in 2000 and bought a 1775 Pro-V tiller. That...
