Minnkota shaft length
I can identify with your situation. I also bought a used boat and the former owner used a trolling motor with a 48" shaft. Now, I'm out there trolling and the wind picks up to create a nice chop of about 10-12 inches. I'm trying to keep the head of trolling motor in the water so I can move forward. No such luck, this thing is sucking air in between waves. Just before I was pushed into shore, I started the main motor to get out of there. I pulled the motor off and replaced it with a trolling motor with a 60" shaft. Problem solved.
