I used to buy my lead from the local scrap metal yard. They had several 55 gallon barells of it you could rumage through. They even had it separated into soft,hard lead and tire weights. I like the soft lead myself = you leave a mark when you press your thumbnail into it. Last time I bought some about 5 years ago it was about 32 cents a pound. I have a friend who has access to a pile of sheet lead that I can get for free now.
