REW, That reminds me of Carl Kiekhaefer the pioneer in boat racing engines before becoming Mercury Marine put a new engine in a boat and while getting it ready before the race found a problem with the fuel pump. The problem was the new engine used a new fuel pump which wasn't available in parts stores yet so to get the part in time he bought a new car that had the engine and removed the fuel pump and then told the dealer to order a new pump.
