Doug, Wondering what Evinrude you were running? From what I have read my max rpm is 5200
It was a 1989 model- which if I recall was crankshaft rated so it would be roughly the same as a prop shaft rated 150. This motor was not a high winder for a 2 stroke- I believe it was 5500 max and I recall getting only around 5100-5200 with the 22. The 20 pitch got me up to the 5500 rpm range which gave much improved performance.
