I have only one thing to say. It’s awful. It’s a heavy boat with a 300 HP merc and kicker. I’m getting older and it’s too much for me. Looking for comparability since I’m considering a Ranger Reata. Also, how does the Ranger Reata toe versus the Lund Pro V 1800 or 1875? All input appreciated.
The only possible scenario for poor towing performance by the Chevy 2500 is that it is so old it only has a gas motor with 4 spd transmission. I had that setup once and it was not stellar. Lots of downshifting.

Having said that, any of todays modern drivetrains with 8-10 spd transmissions should be able to tow an 1850 Reatta and not even know it's back there.

Don't overthink it.
