Default Lowrance Power Cable adapted to NMEA 2000

My lowrance power cable looks like the one in the picture ...

Up until now, I've just had the black/red cable hooked to power but am now adding NMEA. I have the starter kit and it's got the small round connectors. The power cable has the black/red/yellow cable; I've had the black/red cable connected to power - the yellow wire on it disconnected. What is this yellow wire for? Do I leave the red/black cable connected to power as before?

I want to add my HDS Gen2 Touch onto the NMEA network via the multi-colored wire cable. How do I adapt the HDS multi-colored wires to a small round plug so I can connect it to a T-fitting?

What part do I buy?

Thanks for your help!

EDIT:

I just looked at the back of the HDS and there's ANOTHER socket for the NMEA 2000. I guess that's where the starter-kit drop goes. So, what's the multi-colored cable for?
