If we go to the Twin Ports we head north on M and run the backroads, get on US2 at Brule. Much more enjoyable drive than running The Slab. The Slab is for tourists and heavy trucks who are all in a big hurry. Nobody that lives in this part of the state is in a big hurry.

Hope the fishing has been good for you on Long Lake, we love the lake! I’ve been making a couple of trips a year to Northern Minn. and always enjoy the drive on 53. The road is well taken care of compared to the roads in my state and we like to stop at the Norske Nook in Rice Lake.
