Yep, same thing for Lake Ontario as well. So its consistent in terms of how canada treats ya.

I fished the NWT on Erie two years ago and did not take my passport. The pro that I fished with called us in before we went into Canada waters, passport info was not asked for at that time. This year, I'm going to have the passport along just to make sure we don't have any issues. I'm not going to take a chance on messing up the pros fishing plan, just in case we get a border agent on the phone or water that follows the letter of the law.

Better safe than sorry.
