Was his sentence normal for the crime he was convicted of? Without knowing that we can't really say whether or not he got any special treatment. Of course, it's entirely possible that he was allowed to skate on the more serious charges or had the charges reduced because he was known to the prosectors and they liked him. That happens all the time. I agree that people carrying a public trust or having a fiduciary duty should be held to a higher standard but until laws are explicit about that there's not much you can do. Heck, lawyers are supposed to hold themselves to a higher standard through licensing by the Bar. lol

So which is this guy? Wildlife biologists don't make a lot of money. This guy was probably making $75K/yr. This is not about money, it's about ethics.
Average salary for WI Conservation Officers is around $46k-$54k+bennies.
Top 10% MIGHT make as much as $68k but they'd mostly be office rats who don't do squat in the field anyway.
You ain't gunna get rich werking for the State of WI & in spite of all the rhetoric from the Scooter Wanker crowd inhabiting that "small gummint is good except when we are in charge" rotunda, the state worker benefits are expensive as hella and suck for coverage (Anonymouse speaks from 1st-hand experience).
