This was the first song I thought of when I heard he was sick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iyyhnNIKe4
Saw him in concert in the 80s and there was a guy who whooped at the start of every song. After a while JP stopped after the guy whooped and said, "I don't know why you do that. All my songs sound the same starting out." Nice sense of humor from a great songwriter. He started out playing a small club in Chicago, dominating the scene along with another great songwriter, Steve Goodman. At the same time they were playing that club the place across the street, Second City, was starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and John Belushi. Oh, to be able to spend a few nights checking out both those places. I'm on call tonight but I might have one or two and listen to Diamonds In The Rough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoTWW0r85g0 |

Never heard of him until a couple years back a friend went to see him. She loved him. I’ve never listened to his music but it seems well liked by some.

Music from a very blue collar, regular Joe perspective celebrating the little things in life and lamenting the struggles. Songs about love and work and drinking and living. Not everyone's mug of beer.

A truly one of a kind talent. I’m glad I’ll always have his music, but he will be missed.

So sad. So many great songs. My favorites are Angel from Montgomery and Paradise. He will be missed.

Found him in the early 70's while in college. Have 4 or 5 albums. Another Dylan unique in his own way. RIP sir.
