Prediction-
Everyone who has St. Croix will say St. Croix
Everyone who has Loomis will say Loomis
Good luck

Agree with the Loomis endoresment, but depending on specific wants/needs would also suggest checking out JT Custom Rods.

Ok here goes.

I have tried plenty of both, I love St Croix. I love the legend extreme but, you just simply can't beat the G Loomis NRX. It's the best.

That being said it is the only G Loomis rod i still own . I have sold all the rest of any G Loomis I have tried.

So I run both plenty. St Croix for everything but, if you want the best in top end sensitivity NRX for sure.

St Croix beats G Loomis IMO in every category, except the posted above....

Each rod manufacturer has some specific rods that are preferred by many different fishermen.

As a result, there are many folks in the fishing audience which has several or many of each brand rods. Then, they use the specific rod from the particular brand that they prefer for the task at hand.

Good luck

If you're a person who cares where equipment is made then St Croix is made in the USA, except for their lower end rods like the triumph. G Loomis is now shimano owned and not in the USA anymore.

If that makes a difference to you.

I dont think you can go wrong with either. I have both and both work great. I also have other rods that are comparable in price and those work just as well, and maybe a little more sensitive for jigging

The last few years, I have become a fan of some of the smaller rod makers (JT Customs and Tuned Up Customs)
