Default wedding ring?

Do you guys take your wedding rings off?

I've been married over 20 years and can't remember ever taking it off.

Just another stupid Friday question from me.

I took mine off 27 years ago, when we got back from the honeymoon (at Kentucky Lake, no less) and haven't worn it since.

It IS on my key ring, however.

Yea, it's either too big in winter or too small in summer & I'm afraid that I'll loose it. Especially on the water. Doesn't make me any less married. I always wore it when I worked. After retirement, I'm at the lake or working in the yard or garden.

Depends what I'm doing. Snorkeling, definitely. Working on a car or something else really messy or that I could hurt myself getting it caught, yes. Full day on the lake, fishing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. it would probably come off too. I always have it on if I'm not doing something that might cause it to get lost, damaged or cause injury. Only been married a year and half so my finger hasn't swollen so much that I can't get it off.

Will be 39 years in September. Except where not allowed by plant GMPs, it is always on.

That,
I wore my wedding ring for many many years.

But, then I begin doing a lot of intensive metal and machine work. After having a couple of close calls, I removed my wedding ring and with the understanding of my wife - never put it back on my finger.

Then, a few years ago, when gold was $1700 an oz, my wife and I gathered up all of our gold jewelry, including my wedding ring, class rings, chains, and other gold and took them all to the shop for sale.

As much as anything, we were looking down the road, and want to clean up our "junk" so others do not have to clean up after us.

We enjoyed the use of the money to do some things that we had been wanting to be doing and have not regretting the sale of the old gold for a minute.

But, everyone has their own needs and wishes.

Be safe

My ring was my father's so it is now going to be 55 years old. I can't get it off so unless anyone has any great ideas on how to get it off, outside of cutting my finger off, I'll probably be wearing it until I die even if my wife were to leave me after 30 years of marriage and 5 years of dating.

You should start a weekly "silly question of the week" thread.

Been married for near 40 years and never had or wore a ring, ever. I was in the grain elevator business ( buying grain) for 25 years and was always jumping off of the sides of truck boxes. I was advised to not wear a ring as they caught on truck boxes and many a people left their fingers hanging. Still have all my digits.

I wore it for the first 3 years but then they came down pretty hard on wearing any jewelry at work so haven't worn it since 2004 ish .

Wore it on my honeymoon, and took it off when I went back to work. Still brand new after 35 years.
