Mine is a pretty wide gold band, and I had trouble with my skin under it breaking out. Plus I got it shorted out between a wrench and a battery once and it has a melted spot on it. So I quit wearing it many years ago. But the marriage still works.

Going on 37 years, can't remember the last time the ring was off (if ever).

Wore mine for 53 years, plus one more year after my wife died. It's now safely stored away with hers.

Bought mine slightly too large. Got tired of taken it on and off for various activities. Took it off and left it off 2 years. Wife still had not noticed, so I told her. She was mad for about 36 hours, but has not said anything after that (about 4 years).

Wore it for 1 month, always around moving machinery parts. Never put it on again from the next 22 years.

When I was married I always wore it when my wife was around...... Maybe that's why I'm divorced.

When we got married we didn't have much money, I spent $1,500 on her ring and $90 on mine.

I quickly outgrew the first one and couldn't wear it anymore, she saved nickels and dimes and bought me one with a comfort fit band for our 5th anniversary and she wore the original on a necklace.

I lost that one about 5 years after that, replaced it and wear it every day, but take it and my watch off when I get home from work each night.

Funny now after 31 years, she has a nice and rather expensive series of rings she wears all winter, but they stay off all summer due to golf and fishing.

I have taken mine off a couple of times in soon to be 39 years. Have caught it a couple of times but no serious damage, have no intention of ever taking it off.

Default wedding ring

Haven't worn one for at least 40+ years. Back in the late 60's I was a gate agent for an airline ran the jet bridge and opened and closed the aircraft doors - back then when closing the aircraft door it required a bit of a pull out and quick rotation of the handle. My ring started changing shape - sort of oval and banged up a bit. Took it off for that reason - been married for 47 years - can't even remember which hand it would go on anymore.

Have taken if off frequently for work, lifting weights, playing basketball, working around home, etc but have always worn it mentally.
