Default What Equipment Purchase is on Your Radar Screen

The Christmas/New Year season is a time to reflect on the past year and plan for the next. Is a electronics upgrade on the docket for you. What about rods/reels!!! We are all exposed to the hype to get the newest and greatest. However at the end of the day will it put more fish in your boat? thanks for sharing

Trim tabs for the boat..finally, 2 SG27LCA linecounters, down rigger rods, a shopping spree in Duluth to buy great lakes fishing lures and stuff, more rod holders, and a big box of band aids for when the little woman finds out about all this stuff...

oh...and a HB depth finder to replace the 510C that the transducer died...wife's ok on that one as she uses it more than I do.

That's why I'm at work today making the big bucks.

Allen, I have a gob of down rigger rods I should sell.........................haven't put them on line as shipping kills the price. Secondly, Merry Xmas and lets try a bit harder in 2012 to get out fishing..........gary

Default New Gear on the Boat

I have been wanting a MinnKota Vantage Trolling motor for longer than I can remember so this fall I ordered one and installed it on my Lund 1725 Pro Guide. I had a MinnKota Terrova 12 volt 55 Pound thrust Auto Pilot with US2 transducer on the front of the boat and with the Vantage 24 volt on the back I really wanted to upgrade the bow mount. When discussing this with a friend he offered to buy my Terrova so I ordered a new 24 volt Terrova with iPilot and US2 Transducer. Next thing I find out that Lowrance has a big rebate on HDS models. I currently have an HDS-5 at the tiller station and last fall when a friend and I fished the Chippewa Flowage we installed his HDS 5 beside mine and used his for Navigation. I liked it so much that I ordered 2 HDS-7 units and now am in the process of installing both at the tiller station, one for depth and one for navigation. The hds-5 is now permanantly installed at the bow. Only thing left to get is structure scan and my dream boat will be complete. Hope to get the structure scan before the open water season starts. Hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a safe Holiday season and next year brings many 6 pound Walleyes to the boat.

Gary,
It should really not be a problem and get the price that you want.
Just make sure that the shipping price is added to the selling price of the rods.

Standard procedure by everyone who sells - from remote locations.

The other option is to sell on Craigs list which picks up local buyers and saves any shipping hassle.

Good luck

Hi Gary, I have taken the purchase off my radar screen as I have acted. Again I must agree with fishincrazy and purchased (2) of the Stradic's in the FI series as Cabelas were selling the old stock off at reduced prices. I love those reels and added two more. Have a great year and Merry Christmas to all.

Thank you,
Larry Mac
