Looks like inflation is on its way back. Prices are up on lots of items.

I know that restaurant prices went up quite a bit and we wrote that off to simple survival.

The lumber demand has been strong and possibly the prices are a reflection of high demand. Glad we did our lumber projects last year and the year prior.

I guess were seeing the broader impact of higher energy costs.

Hold on to your hat!

We were toying with the idea of selling our house and downsizing, however I thought I'd be able to put a little jing in the pocket at the same time.

The way it looks now, if we sold our existing, we'd be able to build a new house approx half the size plus it would be on a single lot instead of a double. I'd probably end up paying out of pocket to get the finishes we want and the landscaping.

And so for that reason, I'm out. Emphatically. Time to hunker down and ride this out.

An 8' galvanized steel stud is only $4.78 (non-load bearing)

Keep that in mind for simple partition walls.

Is it energy prices or consumer demand that's driving the increase? This is why boats and snowmobiles and outdoor goods in general are flying off the shelves. People are staying home, working on things, fishing, spending time with just family because of the pandemic.
