Do you have any pics of this? Is there any way to check the transom. I have no issues with mine and so signs of leakage but preventative maintenance would be nice.

Unfortunately wood rots and for awhile Lund didn't do a good job with their transoms but other boats transoms rot too. Lund does build a **** of a boat though, didn't mind replacing my Lund transom as I negotiated that into the purchase price. And now I have peace of mind with a lifetime warrantied transom. Kind of a lemons make lemonade thing.

Wasn't it early 2000's or something when they changed the transom wood and bad transoms should no longer be an issue?

I'm pretty sure it was just within the last few years. I thought I remember a dealership telling me wood was still being used when I was shopping for Pro Guides in 2016.

Yeah I know they just switched to composite in the last few years but I thought they had a bad few years before this and they went to a real marine grade wood or something that was also suppose to be better.

I think the first boat without wood was when they introduced the 1875 ProV Bass. I think that was in 2016

Default Lund Composite Transom Replacement

I own a mid 2000's Lund Fisherman. I started to see brown staining coming from around the transom scuppers. The staining comes from moisture in the wood transom leaching out. Had a Lund dealer confirm my thought and had them order an exact fit Lund HDP replacement transom and install. If not addressed the chemicals in the wood start a corrosive assault on the aluminum with pitting and paint bubbling. My main reason for posting is for those that don't want to replace with wood, for some models you can get an exact fit composite transom.

In 2016 a few models had composite. In 2017 all Impact models and up had composite and Renegades had aluminum. For 2018 ALL models have non wood transoms.
