Default Helix 7 G2N on ice

Those of you that have taken your Helix off your boats to use on the ice, do you use ice fishing mode or leave it as is? Using sonar more than the flasher? Also if anyone would be willing to share some settings that work best for them that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I move my bird to my wheeler for hard water. I switch it to ice mode and use traditional 2d. It works the exact same as a flasher w the advantage of having history. If a fish comes in and out you can seen that they have been there. Also, it is much easier to see fish hugging the bottom as they show as a hump.

It's all sonar, just displayed differently. Flasher, chart, SI, DI, Panoptix, 360 are all sonar displays.

I just bought the kit for my Helix 7 to convert it to ice use.

Looking forward to using 2D sonar vs my buddies flasher.

Use it in graph mode, way more information than a flasher. I can even see the distortion in the line a fish makes indicating it is on the move, definitely helps prepare you with inactive panfish to be able to know when a crappie that has been staring at your jig for the last 20 minutes has decided to make it's move. Also you can see what I call the 'attack angle' because of the history, sorts out the window shoppers from the real customers.
