PB&J works in stained water and clear. No idea why and don't care either.

Tried a Ned rig for the 1st time over the past 2 weeks using that stretchy Z-Man caterpillar-looking body on a light 1/10 jig on a shallow walleye/smallmouth lake. I worked the Ned rig extremely slow as recommended by others. My results were:
Ned rig yielded 100% smallies and 0% waldos; and a leech on the same jig yielded 20% smallies and 80% waldos. Wally Diver yielded 100% waldos. Love it when a fish picks up a jig; but I am addicted to that slam you get when casting a crankbait and you discover it's not the rocks this time baby. |

13 saugeye + 3 more lost at the net today. All on white lightning w/ 1/4oz jig, 8-14 FOW. Largest was a 21” 3.5 pounder.

Question
Just curious. Why is this called a Ned rig?

I believe it was named after Ned Kehde who kind of pioneered the technique/rig.

Ted Kehde talking about the Ned technique and retrieves. Kudos is given to Charlie Brewer for one of the retrieves.
