I'm sure after it is officially announced as the new state record, it will become a skin mount.

You can argue all you want about how it should have been released and a replica made, but it would never be officially inducted into the record books without a certified weight.

That's a fish of a lifetime and I do not begrudge him his trophy if he wants it. It's his legal right to take that fish if he wanted to....and, he did.
Very well said!!

Awesome, John!
Juls, espoused about the same logic as I feel concerning keeping a fish this size.
This fish already passed her genes on many times, I'm sure.

I just wish I would have caught this fish when I was there ..in the right area ....a few weeks ago trying for her

Am I jealous? Heck no! I just think the whole deal is cool!

That's NOT what I meant. I did not imply anything else. I don't care if he fed it to his cat or buried it in his garden. Did he mount it or eat it is all I wanted to know.
Why the attitude Juls? OMG!

If you guys only knew how many fish John has released that are in the teens you would let him keep this one without question. He deserved it and he got it!! I couldn't be happier for him.

LOL...you didn't say it like that. I can't read your mind ya know...

You have been here long enough to know we get a lot of C&R purists on this site that feel everyone should believe the same way they do. I just assumed by your post you were wondering if he released it or not.
