I don't think so, but I don't know for sure. If you click "Mark Forums Read" it unhighlights all the threads in each forum EXCEPT for those ads, so I don't think it affects them one way or another.

No, just the ad or sponsored links. Right now I see a Rockstar hitch mounted mud flap ad at the top right of this page. If I click on that ad, WC gets maybe a couple of pennies for that, depending on the agreement, maybe even more if I buy off that click. When you go to a forum and the top two lines are called Sponsored Post, it means that someone is sponsoring WC to have these posts shown, and it usually is a google analytics situation where they target individual search history to help keep you focused on what you were looking at or reading which in turn can up that sites ability to make money using the same techniques. Again it looks like WC recently decided to try and generate more revenue from this site, might as well.

As someone earlier posted, I added an ad blocker extension from google and the ad's disappeared.
