Cant go wrong at the Wishbone Resort. One of the best on the lake. Nice new clean cabins, restaurant and bar and located centered on the lake for good access anywhere, as well as the best dock system around. Ron, Tracy Bill and his wife are the nicest people you will stay with. 218-335-2320.

Question ffishman- did you used to go up with a group that included genegodawa? I don't know him personally, only through reading posts he made in the mid 2000's. I remember his affinity for the rock bass( which i myself share), used to enjoy reading about those trips.

That is what I thought. Ncesi confused me when he said it was centered located. Far north is not centered. And yes I do know Gene. He stayed at Birch Villa, and after Toms closed we stayed at Cass Lake Lodge. Every year we would all get together for lunch at the place on the channel to Kitchi. Lots of fun lots of laughs. I fished that lake for 30 years and reallly miss it. Got to be my favorite lake to fish. Except when the wind blows our of the south, geeeesh, talk about some waves. My favorite fish to chase was walleyes and genes was the rock bass.

I miss Cass Lake
My real introduction to fishing occurred at Cass Lake. It holds many memories for me. I attended about 6 or 7 "openers" there and they were very impressionable. In fact, interestingly enough, I found this t-shirt in the recesses of my closet today.

Anything new to know about Cass Lake? Canada cancelled.
Hate to revive an old thread but my Canadian Fly-In is cancelled and July 11-18 we will be staying at Horseshoe on the north shore with my small family group. When I spoke with the resort owner, he shared that in the last years, zebra mussels have firmly established in Cass Lake and the water clarity will be different from my time there 15-20 years ago. He also said the rusty crawfish is firmly established.
When I would go to Cass, it was the 2nd week of May. I am uncertain of Cass Lake in July. My group is 95% catch and release. Just like in Canada, we would likely eat a few for dinner while we are there, but nothing more. Knowing my group, they would be interesting in fishing for anything, big or small, walleye, perch, anything. For anyone who has gone recently, is this a slip bobber with medium leeches time of year? A troll crawler harnesses time of year? Throw small cranks for rock bass time of year? I appreciate any insight. I shoulder almost all strategic responsibility and that can sometimes feel heavy. |

resort recommendations for late August & would need one rental boat with console? decent fishing more importance than catching any specific type. Need plan for Canada trip cancellation like others.
thanks |

I stay at the Wishbone Resort, they have Lund Alaskan Tillers 16’ & 18’ but no console boats that I’m aware of. There’s a few other resorts mentioned in this thread that you might want to check. Cass has a lot of perch including jumbos and good walleye fishing.
