Default Using MKA-47 mounting bracket on Motorguide Xi5??

Group-

I fully suspect no one has checked this out, but I currently have a Fortrex on my boat and was going to trade it out for a Terrova with I-pilot. I was going to get the MKA-47 plate so I would have a clean install and could avoid the potential problem of the Terrova hitting when launching. Since I'm wired with Lowrance electronics the new Motorguide Xi5 has some appeal.

Does anyone know if the top plate of the MKA-47 mount will fit on the Xi5? I found some pictures. First one is the mount pattern for the Xi5 and second is the top plate of the MKA-47.

I Don't mind putting holes in the top plate, but don't want to do any other machining.

So.... what's the verdict??

Jeff

It MAY be possible since mounting bolt patterns on the MotorGuide Xi5 are the same as the competition to make it easy for anglers to update their trolling motor.

One big advantage of switching to MotorGuide for Lowrance users will be improved transducer and sonar performance.

I was thinking the same thing, I have a glass boat and to get the clearance between the shaft and boat when deployed it has to be mounted pretty far foward on my boat anyway, that minnkota bracket would seem pretty slick I would think, because with old trolling motor I left the trolling motor on boat with the custom cover, hopefully will have it figured out this weekend.
