Default Helix G4N NEMA 2000, does it work?

Anyone have a Helix gen 4 connected to NEMA 2000? Does it really connect to engine and fuel module to give usable data? First glance at the manual looks like you need to hire a computer programmer to set it up, is it that bad or more plug and play? I could be just looking at the instructions wrong.

Well if I would not have an LMF-400 in the dash this would have been OK. I do have the LMF-400 so the dongle was a waste of money.
