Unfortunately, yeah, you're right but I still think the program is headed in the proper direction. Changing the culture of a college football program isn't a fast process and there are going to be hiccups along the way. Row The Boat!

You mean the Gophers that went 11-2 last season and beat SEC powerhouse Auburn 31-24 in the Outback Bowl?

Gophers played Michigan tough even though they were missing 2 starters on the OL and top 2 punters and kickers. Three big plays were the story of the game.

You watched a different game then I did. A Michigan turnover on the 6 led to the Gophers touchdown and the 7-0 lead. From there on Michigan steam rolled 'em. SEC powerhouse Auburn equates roughly to Wisconsin or Penn State in the Big $$ so lets not go overboard. They are a good program but not near the cream of the crop. But, beating them is good for recruiting.

Minnesota led in first downs and time of possession. Hardly "steam rolled". 3 big plays by Michigan - the long run, the fumble recovery for a TD and long kick return changed the game.

You're right, unfortunately those big plays all count, just as any Gopher big play counts...the Gophers played really well last season, it just isn't the way to start the new season out (especially at home)! I'm still cautious about getting too excited about the direction they are going...hopefully it continues to get better....we'll see!

Also, those big plays by Michigan, add to the time of possession and first downs in favor of the Gophers because of a short field for Michigan following those big plays...including the touchdown by Michigan's defense!
