The SB this year had the lowest viewership in more than 10 years. That says a lot about the NFL and the way it is going.

Low viewership could also mean that fans are tired of watching New England in the Super Bowl.

There's a change in what people watch underway.

Kids don't watch tv shows, they watch videos.

Most adults I know, unless very old, are streaming tv from a variety of sources and choosing what shows they watch from a variety of non network sources.

There's been a shift in what sports people watch and participate in.

Changes in the rules and recognition of the concussion dangers have changed the game itself.

The players elected to use the game as a venue to protest their causes.

Last, most of what you're watching in a NFL game is not actual football:

Jethro is right. Myself, I DVR all the shows I watch, sick of 10 min. of advertising, 5 min. of show! As far as SB, I DVR the 1st qtr then started watching, skipped advertising, half time show, didn't find them that entertaining anyway, DVR caught up half way through 4th qtr

viewership was up across the season compared to a few seasons past. the superbowl was less viewed due to patriot fatigue and nobody in LA even knows there is a football team back.

i still follow and enjoy it for the most part. i probably enjoy college more while inferior talent wise, that atmosphere is electric.

as i look at everyone whos no longer a fan and see where they reside, i think its interesting to note that there hasn't been a midwest football team in the superbowl for almost 10 years.

I'm a buffalo bills fan. we are terrible and I think that definitely has driven my interest in the NFL down somewhat.

Funny they just started a new pro football league. It will run into April. If there is money to be made the games will go on wether you lost interest or not doesn't matter.
