Default Ion w/10"

Anybody using a 10" on their Ion? If so how's it working for you?
I bought one and used it for the first time this weekend, not at all happy.
I used a friends 8" awhile back and loved it, so I bought one with the 10".
It doesn't have enuf power or it's a bad powerhead. What's the concensus
out there?

Nobody out there has a 10" on their ION? I bought this for inside the ice castle with no fumes and gas but prefer the bigger hole. I guess I'll have to put the 8" on it and send the 10" bit back.

I'm a hard core Ion guy but think the 10 is too big even though I've never seen one in person. I wish they would have done something between the 7 3/4, they call an 8, and the 10.

Yes I have the 8 as well and it works like a charm. I see the 10 in stores, but have never seen it in action.

Maybe that's the reason they only sell Ion with an 8 on it and you have to buy the 10 for another $150. That's always sounded crazy to me, but I have tought about a 10. The feelings about a 10 are just to mixed for me to try one. The 8's are invincible, why mess with success? Everything has it's limits.

I bought an 8" ion 3 years ago and I love it! Best ice fishing purchase to date. BUT I did buy the 10" auger last season and it was a joke. Not even sure how they can sell it it worked so poorly. I took it right back to the store and got my money back. That being said with the 8" its the best **** auger on the market.

I appreciate the responses guys. I think I will return the 10" and just get used to the smaller hole size. I've got a 10" strikemaster also with the big 3hp Tecumseh but the gas and smoke in the ice castle stinks.

i had a 10" eskimo before my ion. Took me alittle bit to get used to an 8" again but now I don't even notice it. Its nice being able to close the door on the shack and drill holes with the heat on!

I 'rescued' a couple of kids and their toy auger last week on Mille Lacs. Trusty and stinky Shark (ha) got them into some additional fishing....
