Default What prop are you using on new V8 Mercury 300

What prop have people been using with the new V8 Mercury 300 motor?

If you have the new V8 300 hp, either Pro XS or Verado, what prop have you been running and what is your boat setup? (e.g. what boat, setback or jack plate, etc...)

Did you do any prop testing before settling in on the prop you have?

Thanks and looking forward to some feedback.

It might narrow the responses if you said what kind of boat are you are putting this on.

I am putting on a 2020 620cFS Pro I have on order.

I had put out a thread like this specific to the boat earlier but didn't get any responses that were specific to both the V8 300 Verado or Pro XS and the 620 so I was curious if I broadened the range a bit.

If you have a 620 AND the new V8 Verado 300 or Pro XS 300, I would be very interested in your feedback.

If you have any boat and the new V8 Verado 300 or Pro XS 300, I would still be interested (although realize the that setup on a different boat could be quite different than on a 620)

Thanks for any feedback anyone may be able to give.

I have a 2020 2075 Lund Pro V IFS fully loaded with a 15 pro kicker and a 300 Pro Xs. I am running a 21 bravo fs and I am getting between 58 mph and 60 mph with two guys and full gas tank and livewell. No jackplate. Up one hole from factory.

Thanks John. What are you getting for RPMs at wide open throttle?

Between 5900 and 6000 rpms depending on the weather conditions. Im also at MN elevations 1300 ish above sea level. I ran a 19 tempast at a hole lower and was at 57 to 58 mph at 6100 to 6200 rpms. The bravo has a better whole shot in my opinion. Also no need for prop slip so plug the holes. This motor makes plenty of torque and has no problem getting out of the hole.

My new motor showed up with a 21p tempest and I am having to re-prop, way underrated for this engine/boat it seems. Cavitates at 5400 RPM jackplate lowered and 5800 RPM jackplate raised. Trying a Bravo 22LT and will report back and would appreciate any feed back from other 620 FS Pro owners also.

Thanks for the update your new boat webstj, I am interested what you find with the Bravo LT 22. I'd be curious how that might do as compared to a Bravo FS in either a 21 or 22 pitch.

Thanks for the update and keep us posted.

Default 2020 620Pro 300 ProXS 8" Slidemaster Manual

Hey fellas,
I am so glad to see this thread as it has been a hot topic here in Bismarck, ND. I am currently running a 21P tempest on my new rig and been unimpressed. 58.3 MPH with full load going down river on the Missouri fully trimmed at 5830 rpms. Hole shot has been good. Raised the motor 1 inch on the manual jackplate and ran again yesterday. Never really even had a good chance to test cuz the boat was slipping so bad with the new raise. Talked to the guys at dealership and we are going to try a 20p Bravo and leave the jackplate where it is currently to see where we end up. They have a few of these boats out with different prop combos currently, and are getting all the feedback compiled to see if they can get these rigs dialed in. So far no magic bullet. Keep all the feedback coming and I will post my results here as well after the next trial change. Jason
