Default How do properly tow a tube

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f6cd6bbdc0.jpg
Hereís the back of my boat, no eyelets for towing just the handles. Yesterday I went and looked at the tow bar that goes around the engine, itís over $1000! So Iím not buying that.
What options do I have? Anyone here tow a small tube and where did you attach to?
I would be towing small kids, 100 lbs max plus tube.
Thanks

If you put a plate on the backside of those handles you can probably pull a tube.

add a couple of u-bolts, bolted thru the transom.

I second that! Just inside and slightly lower than the handles, where the transom is going to be a little stiffer.

OP, you don't need a bar. Just thru-bolt some eyelets like larger boats have for securing the boat to the trailer, and buy one of the $50-ish nylon tow straps that easily wrap around and clear the engine. I use that set-up to pull tubes on my 21 Tundra with a 225 Opti.

I was thinking the same but Iím worried about where to drill and compromising the integrity of the transom.

What about buying solid metal Handles that are the same size as the ones on the boat. Take Off the old ones and drill though where the holes are already started. You would want to use decent backer plate. As more pressure might be on the inside bolts

Thatís not a bad choice idea.

I know there are 100s of people that just use the handles as a tie on point.

Make sure you use some silcone adhesive sealent where the bolts go threw the transom. The three Ounce size would be enough. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1
