Default Cedar Lake

Got out today on Cedar for a solo trip for mainly a muskie quest.Super hot here at 37c.Almost ùncomfortable but weather showed storms and muskies really tend to get active so i wanted to be out.Storms never came but i did rain on me 3 times and that felt good. Was like beeing in a dryer cause within a few minutes i was dry.Ended up seeing 2 very lazy specimens.Off to catch some walleyes for supper.Tough deal again.Mayfly #2 explosion.Managed some supper fish and found one spot were i caught a dozen and all were 24" plus. That was short lived. Was going to cast a shallow rock reef and when i got there could see a lot of smallmouth bass swimming and gorging on the flies.Amazing just standing in my boat watching them explode out of the water.Pretty good day.Soon mayfly will be done and the heat wave gone and things will get back to normal.

Good theory Ron.If your right hope there are places open.Every camp is empty i see.No boats in water. Some dont even have there docks in.Not many US camp owners up either.Wife and i usually go to Anishinabi Lake in July but don't think that will happen this year.

I appreciate your posts, John. It somewhat helps fill the void left from not being able to experience my favorite place in the world.

John from mid sept to mid Oct there are some resorts open, they are owned by Canadians and they also live there year round so those are ones you need to find, other than that the American owners pretty much lock up,so I’m not giving until the heavy lady sings, rod
