Default Debt Free!

Wrote the big check today and paid off the truck. That is the last debt I have and, looking back, the first time since I was in the military 30 years ago that I haven't been paying on a loan of 1 kind or another.

Wow! The reality of this hasn't hit me and likely won't for months to go.

A head's up! I'm feeling freedom and celebrating with a bit of libations.

LOL!

Nice Job Seedtree, CONGRATS Now just try to stay that way. Buy nothing unless you can pay cash for it.

And even then, BEFORE you spend, think REAL HARD: Do I really NEED this? Most times you are better off NOT buying what seems like a good purchase at the time. Instead, save and invest wisely all you can, and you will thank yourself later! Focus on remaining debt-free for life, and building up a nice cushion for when unexpected emergencies inevitably come up. It's a huge stress-reducer and for sure you will gradually feel better about your situation as the years pass.

Debt free?
So..........who can escape Income, sales, or the worst of all:::::> property taxes. Once your house is paid --- you'll reflect on the mega 100's each month that you pay as extortion to live in your own house!!!

Oh......and do you pay for
house insurance, health insurance, etc.?

You are never your own 'man' until you die or become independently wealthy. Till then, like most of us, you're a wage slave.

Congratulations! Feels good doesn't it? Don't let some on this board poop on your parade, probably wishing they could say the same as you. Again, congratulations.

Seedtree:

Congratulations! Like you, I got rid of all my voluntary debt years ago and it feels great. Ever since, I kept making payments to a specific savings account. When I wanted to buy a car, boat, etc. I dipped into that account. Haven't borrowed a dime in years.

Congrats. I have less than a year to go on my truck payment, and that will free up $528 per month, I can't wait. Now my house mortgage that is another story, but it's better than paying rent.

Is it? That used to be the old way of thinking. Not sure if that is still current.

Congrats Seedtree. It is an awesome feeling.

We still have the student loans and mortgage before we can say we are debt free.

congrats, it feels great doesn't it. There is a great feeling in not owing anyone.
The taxes, insurance etc is not a debt but a bill. We all have to pay those items
