Default Garmin 93sv+ or Lowrance Elite 9ti

Hi guys,

Looking to add a dedicated unit for 2d/Di. Already have a Humminbird helix mega G2 for mapping/SI and really like it.

Debating between the Garmin 93sv+ with the CV52 ducer or the Lowrance elite 9ti.

They are both on sale for 599 at Basspro as of today.

I realize the Garmin cv52 doesn't have a dedicted DI crystal.

Typically fishing less than 40ft is this a big deal? I like the option of adding panoptix/livescope down the road but also want the best 2D/DI imaging I can get.

Looks like stepping to the Garmin GT 52 will get you a dedicated down crystal with a price of 1000.

Thanks for any input!

Go with Garmin and keep the door open for Panoptix, nothing else comes close.
in less then 60 FOW there is no difference between CV and GT, I've had both transducers and couldn't see a difference.

Currently have both brands onboard networked.

The HBs are used for SI searching, mapping, waypoints, spotlocks and Tmotor position control.

The Panoptix systems are used for catching.

Good to know you like the combo. Wasn't aware you are able to network Humminbird and Garmin?

just bought a 93sv from Cabelas on sale for 599. Great price. I have a 73dv and love it but always wanted side imaging. 9" screen and side imaging for that price is a steal IMO.....overall unit is only about 1/2" wider than the old 73dv too!!!!

Now that I have used Panoptix and Livescope, it would be hard to imaging fishing without one or the other.

Correct me if I'm wrong. When switching from say 2D to DI on a Garmin, you can't view the history of the DI. With Lowrance you can. The reason this is important to me, is if pass over and I pick up something on the 2D, and want to get a more clear idea of what I'm looking at, I'll switch to DI. With my Lowrance, I can scroll back the DI. I don't think you can scroll back after changing screens with a Garmin. If you have been splitting screens no problem, but I like to see the full view of each screen.

I gets better if you use or sign up for a club card and use it you get 3x the points and a $50gift card during this sale bought my second 93pls Friday can not beat the price it does not have the Navionics enhanced map but I called Garmin and they will have a free Navionics up date available to down load thru your Active captain cell phone ap in a few weeks . On to Live Scope , the clincher for me was the Lowrance folks at the Bass Pro Seminar said Lowrances version of Live Scope has been pushed back til next summer Garmins is available now .
