Pulling transducer wires on a Ranger 620
So I'm in the process of changing out all my electronics. I removed the head units and pulled all the cables going from the bow to the helm...pretty easy. I then started at the helm and i am stuck. I opened up the rear access so i can see wires and I eventually found the correct cables but now they wont budge. Any suggestions?

As Bob says they may be cable tied together, you may be able to access them under the console where the wires come out but it is "busy" take the 4 screws off that hold the throttle shift controls and you may be able to access them from there, ( a second person is handy here) Make sure you put strings on the cables you are pulling out. Tie a half hitch around the cable you are pulling in and use vinyl (electric) tape to secure it, start at the cable and wrap it around enough times so it is tapered like a torpedo. A fiberglass fish tape is handy (be careful with the metal one). I have had success with tying the string on to the cable with the connector facing away from where you are pulling. There are all kinds of conduits in the Ranger boats...good luck

Ozark...You live in Lakeview and don't have a Ranger? I didn't think that was allowed. Bet you can smell the fiberglass

I can smell it on the way to Walmart. Them Boy's are buying those $120,000 babies like hot cakes but I am imported from up north and spent my money on a 2002 Lund 2025 Pro V Le before I retired and moved down here. Still all the boat I need. Bob

Ozark...I drove down there 2 years ago...sent you a message about getting together, stayed at Gastons and was amazed at the Brown Trout fishery
