true. sometimes I do the same, sometimes I dont and dont have to have 2 holes if I dont want . I have to drill 1/3 more holes. If im hole hopping I may not want that...anyway...probably depends on what OP is fishing for. To me, 8" is great for panfish up to walleye. I could see where a 10" hole would be more room to direct the head of a salmon or larger fish. a fish filling a 10" hole is a big fish!!
