Sounds like you need a small generator, too. Type and number of batteries might (will) dictate how much charger and type of charger you need.

I am more or less in the same situation and bring the TM battery home after each outing. I've used this charger for 8 year with no issues. When the battery is fully charged it automatically shuts down and maintains a trickle charge.

Would that work on a two battery system?

You could look at this model from Schumacher http://www.batterychargers.com/se-70ma/

That offers both 12 & 24V output, so if you have a 24V, series TM battery setup, you could charge both TM batteries at the same time.

x10 on the comment on the charger mentioned by HRG.

I have had this same charger for years and it works very well.

As he mentioned - when charging a 24 volt trolling motor pair of batteries, switch to 24 volts on the charger and charge both of them at the same time.

Good luck

I'm talking about using the 24V charger, hooked-up to the same terminals as the trolling motor, charging both batteries at the same time, with the jumper in place.

As far as the charger is concerned, a pair of series-connected 12V batteries is just (1) 24V battery.

I have used a 24 volt charger for years to charge the 24 volt (2-12 volt batteries in series) trolling motor battery. Depending on the day, I will sometimes hook directly to the battery pair, or at times, I will plug in a 24 volt trolling motor plug that I have made for charging and connect the 24 volt charger to the 24 volt trolling motor plug wires. Easy to have the charger on a shelf in the garage and just run the charger wire to the trolling motor socket and plug in the charger.

Be safe
