TMG, I do understand that. And I’ve had a great experience with LaCanne’s up to this point. I’ve shared accolades about them here and in many places on FB.
I’m a gentle soul, and I thrive on harmony, cooperation, and getting along with everyone. So I will wait to hear from them on this - I shared the commentary I got from Mercury indicating their combined mistakes, and am waiting to hear what they have to say. “Sorry” would be a nice start (or even “they are mistaken, we did this/that”). So far I’ve heard nothing (less than 24 hours, so I have to be fair). Up to this point, their only response (before I got the information from Mercury) has been “the service manager says you need to take it in for servicing.” Really? Thanks, Mr. Obvious. Not even a “sorry you are having trouble.” So, long-winded....but bottom line, I’m more than happy to let them come back to me and try to help/assist. If they do, great. I was effusive in my praise back to Mercury for admitting the mistake. But if they don’t, or just ignore me....then I’m going to be sure people know that. Because I don’t want others to experience what I’m experiencing....a brand new boat/engine that just has to sit most of April while waiting for service. You don’t have a Mercury dealer closer? I get the didn’t buy the boat here, don’t have priority in repair line thing. But I think something could be worked out given the service bulletin/defect. Maybe not, but I’d ask when actually talking to a person at your dealership.

I'm wishing for my old merc right now. Suzuki 350 hit the water for the first time yesterday. Low oil pressure warning and shut down. They restarted it to get back to the dock and heard noise no outboard should make. Minutes at idle is how long it took to become a 700lb boat anchor

I made your point to Mercury yesterday. They need to do something to get me prioritized. They indicated that all of the dealers are private businesses, and they don’t have the ability to prioritize their work. I actually have a very good relationship with my service center here. on the Suzuki 350 issue - this happened to a good friend last year. The marina forgot to fill the oil after a 20 hour change - did the unit have oil?

Still, Mercury needs to do something other than say “sorry” here. I’m supposed to be getting a call, but don’t have anything from them yet. But at least they are apologetic, and responding to me on social media. LaCanne’s on the other hand has not responded to my email asking about this PDI that Mercury says they didn’t complete.
