Default Issues with auto pilot on Ultrex

This past year I started having trouble with my ultrex and staying on the heading that the motor head was pointed in whenever I’d hit the “N” button on my remote. I tried doing it from the pedal and had the same issue. Whenever I’d hit the autopilot button it’d either take me in a wide circle to the left or right. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas what it might be?

Do you have it on Advanced mode or Legacy mode? I believe, on that remote with the "N"...advanced mode is the one with the circle around the N. Holding the N button for 3 seconds changes the mode setting, if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I used that style remote.

You want Legacy mode.

Might not hurt to recalibrate it either

GC,
When you have an issue with your trolling motor take it to the dealer for repair or replacement.
Sometimes there are updates that may be installed at no charge to correct design issues.

Best wishes.

If you don't live around the corner from an ASC you might check and see if maybe one of the foot pedal switches is stuck. That would show itself in all modes (even with autopilot is not selected) That seems to be a common Ultrex problem
