Default American flag placement

Wife and I stopped to eat tonight at a bar and grill that has good burgers. After eating went to the restroom and above the two urinals was a large American flag attached to the wall covered the distance across both urinals and went from about a ft above flush handles to the ceiling. Before we left I asked to speak to the manager and told her that the service was great and the food was very good but did not think that the American flag should be displayed that way she was receptive and told me that someone else had commented also. Am I wrong what is your opinions just doesn't seem right to me to be displayed that way.

Don't have to look around long to find people who have a different opinion as to whats proper and whats not. Personally it's not a place I would hang one but than again i'm very happy and very proud of what this country provides myself and family.

IMO they meant well by showing their patriotism but didn't think it through. I see violations of flag etiquette a lot especially tattered, torn and dirty in the back of Bubba's truck and as clothing. Our flag is NOT clothing.

If the flag was displayed on the wall with the blue union at the upper left, it was displayed consistent with the Flag Code. The code does say the flag should not be displayed in a place where it could be torn or soiled. Display on a wall above urinals is questionable, but there's nothing in the Flag Code that specifically forbids it.

I would not choose to display the flag in such a location.

Bad idea to have flag hanging in restroom. When I mention to people that the flag shouldn’t be used as clothing the think I’m nuts. So many wearing the flag on holidays especially the 4th

Probably not the best place, but I see no problem with it. It's the thought and patriotism that counts as long as the flag is not getting soiled or damaged.

I don't get the whole clothing thing. Yeah, I can see actually destroying a flag to turn it into clothing as a no-no, but a flag depicted on clothing is fine in my book. I have quite a few shirts that depict the flag and have never had a negative comment, but have had many compliments with people saying they wish more people would display their patriotism. A flag ironed on a shirt is really no different than a flag patch sewn on a jacket or whatever.

The Canadian flag (and all nations flags) shall be flown on the same level as the United States flag. You may think that the U.S. is superior but in terms of displaying the flag we are on the same level.

I'm an Eagle Scout. We learned these things.
