Lowrance HDS live

I have a basic 83/200 transducer that i was told would work on the live series. Will i get side and bottom scan with this?

No, you wouldn't get side or bottom with any Lowrance graph ever made with a 83/200. That's only a 2d transducer.

Unless it's a 83/200 455/800 HDI transducer then downscan and 2D but no sidescan.

Correct, but you said you had a basic 83/200, an HDI is not a basic 83/200.
That would be a hst- wsbl. So which do you have?

Also if it's a 7 pin blue connector you need an adapter cable for it to work on the 9 pin Live unit

Okay, there are two different HDI transducers out there, a 7 pin and a 9 pin, you should get the 9 pin.

I run a HDI for my 2d sonar and it does a good job. You can even chirp with it. I prefer the med chirp band. Good luck and enjoy your new graph
