Default GPS receiver/1199

I am currently running an 1199 with the AS GRP external puck. I do a lot of contour trolling on very steep breaks and turns and a lot of the time my depths and contour lines are off by anywhere from a foot to sometimes 10' or more. I realize that there is some GPS and mapping inconsistentcy but I was wondering if the AS GPS HS puck would be anymore accurate than what I'm using?
Thanks,Al

I believe you do gain some with the heading sensor puck, especially at slower speeds under 3mph. Of course, I all depends on the accuracy of you charts. It is pretty tough to stay on the exact course if you are on a really steep break.

Where is the GPS puck in relation to your transducer?

The puck is in the back corner as close to the transducer as I could get it. I'd say about 2'

Default I contour troll some steep drops...

I run the HS GPS on my bow cap - and the TM has SI and DI XDCRS on it....
Well worth the coin IMO.
