Not sure I'd call this hull change revolutionary. How does one win innovation award for something like this. A pad hull with keel is not revolutionary. Been done for decades. Reminds me of hour presentation I sat through this week from fellow engineer that amounted to adding relay for a switch.

I'm surprise that we are not getting any feedback specially that Crestliner is a popular brand.

Its because of the dual tracking keel design leading to and thru the pad…….

I know its on the 1850, and 1750 Raptor's, but not the 2100.
I do not know enough about it (Apex) but it looks to improve handling on smaller boats, tighter turns, etc. (Maybe) Curious now as well, OE |

I buy into the theory that a pad increases speed, and if small, does not impact ride quality of a V hull. Basically, it is like a Lund hull.
Another key advantage that I anticipate is that a welded keel is strong. It is like a solid beam and is better able to withstand contact with hard objects. Based on the video it appears the pad has a centerline keel and keels at each edge of the pad. I have a conventional Sportfish with a single, welded keel at centerline which has been relatively bulletproof and withstood impacts that probably would have deformed a conventional sheet aluminum hull. |

If you want a family specific boat that will still fish well, consider the Glastron GTSF200.
Price one out and compare its price to other fishing boats. Also, the Glastron GTSF200 will comfortably seat 9 people when you want to have a bunch of friends with yourselves and children. https://www.glastron.com/us/boat/gtsf-200 This boat is often overlooked by the hard core fishing crowd, but it still does an excellent job of fishing, has a wonderful dry ride and a tidy nice top speed. Here is an ad for the boat: Note: this one is for a 2019 boat. Notice the price - https://www.rivamiami.com/New-Invent...a-Keys-6070877 ------------- Here is a MN dealer for Glastron that will quote a price for you for a 2021 model if you have any interest. https://www.rapidmarine.com/new-mode...-200-28132610b ------------------------------- The reason that I mention Glastron is that my neighbor has a 20 foot glastron and have taken a bunch of trips with him. A Wonderful ride at a comfortable 55 mph - and yet it still fishes very well. When we fish in his boat we just use a cooler filled with ice for any fish that we plan to keep. Much better than using a livewell if you are going to keep the fish. Best wishes Last edited by REW; 08-26-2021 at 07:15 PM. |
